Credentials earned during the period of consent remain valid, even if Ministry consent to offer the program is withdrawn in the future. The internship is a distinctive element of Sheridan’s photography program. This 420-hour placement is completed in the summer between years 3 and 4, locally or internationally, in one or more professional work settings. Students work with and learn from a variety of industry professionals, gaining valuable experience towards their photography career. Masters of Photography

Students delve into the making, presentation and interpretation of photographic images, exploring photography as both a language and a craft. Ultimately, they learn how to use cultural signifiers, symbols and metaphors in the content and structure of image making. The classes have been designed to be suitable for all levels of experience. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced professional, learning from a Master is sure to help you to improve your photography. Our portfolio includes British Journal of Photography, the world’s oldest photography title (est. 1854), and our awards are among the most viewed photographic exhibitions in history. You can choose to take up formal or informal work placements that will help you establish your own professional network, including opportunities such as working for magazines, galleries and photographers.

In five to 10 images depict how you, or someone you document, are responding to the changes around them. Your images can be taken on any device, shot in any style – be black & white or colour – and approached from whichever angle you feel is best. While creative responses are encouraged, it’s key to stick to the brief.
